Who We Are
Mansonia is a leading manufacturer of solid wood and semi-solid wood components and products, serving the interior and building industry across South Africa and Africa. Our 4000m² manufacturing facility, visible from the N4, is equipped with state-of-the-art woodworking technology including CNC machines, line cutters, and more. We also operate a fully equipped 500m² spray booth, ensuring the highest quality finishing for every product. For over 30 years, Mansonia has collaborated with clients to manufacture and fit interiors that are inspiring, functional, and aesthetically refined. Our work spans corporate, retail, and residential environments, delivering end-to-end solutions from precision manufacturing to professional installation.
History
The story of Mansonia began with a boy’s love of wood and a dream of one day building his own carpentry business. At just 15, Chris Kool finished school and began his working career, taking evening classes to further his knowledge in business management, building, and later the military — building a strong, well-rounded foundation for his future.
After 10 years at Zuid Afrikaanse Orrelbouers, where he worked on schools, office buildings, churches, shopping centers, and government contracts, Chris perfected the art of woodwork he had first learned in The Netherlands. In 1986, he founded Mansonia Skrynwerke.
Over the years, Mansonia grew into a profitable, sought-after business, built on Chris’s dedication to woodcraft. Eventually, he entrusted the company’s leadership to Petrus Jordaan, who continues to guide Mansonia forward. Today, the business thrives, blending decades of craftsmanship with innovation, technology, and timeless design.
