Project Brief

The client envisioned transforming a dedicated space into a bespoke, climate-controlled wine cellar. The brief required high-capacity storage for an extensive collection, integration of modern refrigeration, and custom joinery that would serve as a luxurious and highly functional entertaining feature within the private home.

Our Solution

• Multi-Format Storage System We designed and constructed floor-to-ceiling joinery that incorporates various storage solutions: high-density cubbies for individual bottles, sloping display racks to showcase labels, and open shelving for accessories and glassware.
• Statement Circular Apertures A unique design element was introduced in the lower cabinets: a striking pattern of large, framed circular and rectangular apertures. This feature provides a contemporary aesthetic and specialized storage for large format or display bottles.
• Seamless Appliance Integration The cabinetry was custom-built to precisely frame and integrate two large, freestanding wine refrigeration units, ensuring the appliances sit flush and blend professionally into the wooden architecture.
• Integrated Wet Bar Functionality A small wet bar area, complete with a countertop space and inset basin, was integrated into the unit. Below this, custom shaker-style cabinets provide enclosed storage for entertaining essentials.
• Finish & Aesthetic Synergy The medium-toned, fine-grain hardwood and smooth finish were specifically chosen to complement the room’s rustic exposed brick walls and brick flooring, achieving a perfect balance between traditional cellar aesthetics and contemporary luxury.

Outcome

The completed wine cellar is a masterpiece of specialized residential joinery. The Mansonia cabinetry provides exceptional storage capacity and temperature stability while delivering a bold, sophisticated design statement. The space now functions not just as storage, but as a dedicated, luxurious entertaining environment tailored precisely to the client’s passion.
