Project: House Phoenix – Bespoke Interior Joinery & Luxury Fit-Out
Location: Private Residence, Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa
Client: Architect / Private Client
Category: Residential / High-End Custom Cabinetry & Interior Architecture
Project Brief
Commissioned by the architect, the brief for House Phoenix required executing all interior joinery to match the home’s grand scale and highly contemporary design. The emphasis was on precision, the integration of diverse high-end materials, and the creation of seamless, minimalist storage solutions that complement the architectural drama and the home’s spectacular views.
Our Solution
- Architectural Cladding & Ceiling Panels We fabricated and installed the extensive light-toned wood planking for the dramatic, radial roof structure and the interior wall cladding, setting the sophisticated, modern foundation for the entire space.
- Bespoke Display & Media Units Custom-built, floor-to-ceiling wall units were installed, featuring integrated contrasting materials such as painted back panels (blue/grey) and statement accents like deep green marble or stone veneers. The units utilized subtle brass/gold-toned vertical dividers for a high-luxury, framed look.
- Luxury Walk-in Wardrobe Systems The dressing room spaces were fitted with comprehensive, gallery-style joinery, including multi-level, angled central display islands and surrounding cabinetry finished with full-height glass doors and sleek black metal frames.
- Integrated Storage & Feature Cabinetry Throughout the residence, we crafted custom storage units, including slatted wooden feature cabinets and seamless wardrobe doors with unique, geometric black metal handles, ensuring high function while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic.
- Custom Geometric Pieces We fabricated bespoke cabinetry and central islands with complex, non-standard angles and steps, designed specifically to conform to the unique, architectural geometry of the residence.
Outcome
The custom joinery at House Phoenix is a central component of its interior luxury. By integrating a sophisticated material palette of light wood, dark accents, glass, and bespoke metalwork, Mansonia successfully translated the architect’s ambitious design into a flawlessly executed reality, culminating in a world-class, contemporary seaside residence.
